Dear Parent, Guardian & Staff Member:
Culdesac School is committed to keeping families informed, and it’s our goal to be transparent within the bounds of our students’, staffs’, and community’s rights to confidentiality. We are writing to update you on the most current developments regarding COVID-19.
Today, we were informed that an individual within our school community has tested positive for COVID-19. Please keep his/her health and recovery in mind. At this time, North Idaho Health Department does not consider this student a direct contact with other students outside of his/her household. We are remaining in close contact with the North Idaho Department of Health in making certain that we are following all recommended protocols.
Culdesac School has protocols in place for positive cases, which includes the following:
- Communicating directly to our school community
- Intensifying cleaning and disinfection protocols per CDC and FDA guidance
- Coordinating with our local public health district on a next course of action, which is dependent on the level or risk to our school community.
We are currently recommending that students and staff who are unvaccinated wear masks for the next 14 days. This is not mandatory at this time. If you feel safest keeping your child home, you are welcome to do so. If distance learning is something that you wish to do for your child, please contact the school so that we can arrange this with your child’s teacher(s).
We will continue monitoring any developments and plan accordingly in partnership with North Idaho Public Health. We will update you as we have more information. In the meantime, please seek information from credible sources such as:
- Central District Health; Informational Call Center 208-321-2222
- Center for Disease Control and Prevention
Please visit our website to learn more about our return to school COVID procedures. https://www.culsch.org/
We encourage you to continue to take care of yourselves and one another.
If your student is showing any symptoms of COVId-19, please keep them home.
Sincerely,
Alan Felgenhauer
Superintendent
